Research
How the Lab Works
The Lab proudly brings together super-talented individuals from around the country from diverse backgrounds under one roof. At any given time the lab hosts researchers with backgrounds in medicine, dentistry, data science, bioinformatics, molecular biology, microbiology, art and design, economics, policy and so on. Each member of the Lab, or Labber, can be part of one or more groups and/or studies. Groups revolve around a particular field of study that convene and work together. Studies are dedicated research projects under a specific IRB-approval and with or without a dedicated funding. Labbers from each group can be involved in more than one study.
The Lab also has a dedicated Operations, or Ops, team which looks after all works related to project management, administration, talent management, finance, procurement and communications.
At any given time, the Lab has a core team of both research and Ops staff members, along with a fluid group of incoming and outgoing visiting researchers, students and interns. Summers are often the busiest part of the year.
