In a momentous ceremony held at the Rehman Medical Institute, ten brilliant young medics from across Pakistan officially graduated from the Precision Medicine Lab’s (PML) highly competitive 8-week Summer Elective programme. This year marked the third cohort of the programme, which has gained nationwide recognition for its role in nurturing the future of biomedical research.
The graduation event attracted an esteemed gathering of academic leaders, healthcare professionals, and policy influencers. The audience included notable figures such as Dr. Sher Muhammad Khan, Consultant Oncologist, Dr. Taza Gul, Director of Science and Technology, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Amjad Arbab, senior advisor at the World Bank.
Each summer, the PML invites top medical students from across the country to participate in hands-on biomedical research. Throughout the eight weeks, the students are involved in hands-on research, participating in projects that tackle real-world challenges in healthcare and biomedicine. From data analysis to experimental design, the students gain critical skills that will be invaluable as they continue their academic and professional journeys.
