Severe COVID19

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lab launched a crucial study to understand the genetic factors that determine the severity of the disease in the local population. Collaborating with Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) and Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), we collected biological samples, including nasal swabs, saliva, and blood, along with medical data from over 300 severe COVID-19 patients. The aim of the project is to investigate how genetic variations and immune responses influence the severity of COVID-19.
