Truly Interdisciplinary
Our diverse cohort brings together students from three different backgrounds – biotechnology, medicine/dentistry and CS/data science/engineering. This multidisciplinary environment enables unique ideas, innovative approaches and different perspectives to come together and solve complex problems.

Students will learn from leading experts in both data science and biomedicine, including professors, researchers and industry practitioners who bring cutting-edge research and trending industry experience into the classroom. Apart from deep expertise, every instructor brings a lot of passion for their subject.
Real-World Problem Sets
Students will be using real-world datasets for both learning and research. This brings relevance to their training and increases the potential for impact of their research. From learning to navigate some of the key datasets in a wide-range of biomedical fields and leveraging them for training models, for example, to incorporating unique local datasets that have been developed at the Lab adding local nuance to their findings and bringing them closer to testing and deployment.
Culture & Soft Skills
In addition to technical expertise, we emphasise on the development of essential transferable soft skills, such as communication, leadership, and teamwork. Students will be equipped with skills and frameworks through workshops and sprints. With the open, vibrant and rigorous scientific culture in the Lab, students are set to realign values that will make them great people to work with upon graduation.
Latest Pedagogical Tools
Unlike monotonous didactic lectures in the traditional manner, our modules use the latest teaching methods in tertiary education that enhance class participation, improves critical thinking, sharpens logical reasoning and provides exposure to diverse opinions and perspectives.
Dual-Campus Experience
With literally two ID cards – one for IMS and one for PML/RMI – students are set to benefit from the best of two great campuses in Peshawar, their resources, facilities, events and communities. This almost doubles networking opportunities for students to meet new peers, professors and practitioners on both sides – biomedicine and data science.
Exchange Programme
Our exchange program offers students the opportunity to undertake research visits or attend workshops and conferences in leading institutions nationally and internationally.
